ArtiVR for Grays Fitted Kitchens during lockdown

Based in Norwich, Grays Fitted Furniture opened for business over fifty years ago, in 1966, designing and manufacturing high quality kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms and studies.  The company has built up a loyal customer base and is widely recommended not only for the quality and professionalism of its work, but its extensive experience in made-to-measure solutions which meet the individual needs of homeowners.

Grays Fitted Furniture chose the ArtiCAD-Pro software some ten years ago, and currently three designers use it to undertake about ten to fifteen designs per week.

Mike Cooper, Managing Director of Grays Fitted Furniture:  “Not surprisingly there have been huge changes to the industry over the lifetime of the company.  Nowadays designing, manufacturing and installing a new kitchen, for example, can be a complex project involving many trades.  For nearly all our work, we are acting as project managers to oversee the new room and all its different components.

The main benefit of ArtiCAD-Pro as a design tool for us is that we can visualise the proposed new room so that people can see exactly what it will look like, and how it will work.  We find that this really helps with the sales process, and it has been even more helpful during the national lockdowns to show homeowners the space and to give them the confidence to go ahead.”

In 2020, Grays Fitted Furniture purchased three licences for ArtiVR. ArtiCAD’s virtual reality system, together with Oculus headsets.  “Although we have not been able to use the headsets to their full potential during recent months, this is already beginning to change.  People are really enthusiastic to try the headsets and experience what it will be like to live in their new room.  ArtiVR also makes it really easy to present alternatives to the client, giving them choice and helping them to make a decision.

Grays Fitted Furniture has an annual turnover of £1.5m.
