The latest technology innovation project for the retailer sees an innovative iPad solution, designed by ArtiCAD, being rolled out to more than thirty of the company’s bedroom designers. This new system, which incorporates ArtiCAD’s Pan360 panoramic viewer and support for electronic signatures, is integrated with an appointment-booking system and with the CRM system to provide a completely end-to-end paperless sales process from initial appointment through to confirmation of the order details for manufacturing.
According to the director responsible for the project: “For large-scale retailers, such as ourselves, this is a real game changer. Order delivery can be completed in seconds, compared with the previous approach which took about two weeks.”
For the business, the benefits of the new iPad solution are instantly measurable. “Sales lead time is reduced which is beneficial to cash flow, and accuracy of design, ordering and pricing have all improved dramatically. We can link the iPad to a customer’s home television to provide them with a real ‘theatre’ experience using Pan360: our customers think it is phenomenal.”
The iPad hosted system, developed by ArtiCAD, collects appointment data from the retailer's App. The designer visits the client and creates the design using the ArtiCAD-Pro software on their iPad, in the customer’s home. Pricing is produced automatically by the ArtiCAD-software. Once the customer has agreed the design and pricing of their new bedroom, the electronic signature facility is used for them to sign the order, which is uploaded automatically to the Company's business management system. The order is processed by head office, a surveyor is sent the design files and an appointment to visit the customer’s house to carry out a detailed, accurate survey. Again, all these stages are carried out on the iPad, including the customer’s confirmation signature. All the manufacturing information is then passed directly to the factory for production.
